Your plans, notes, and preferences are stored in your browser.

Privacy, in plain language.

This Privacy Policy explains how OpenLoops, a browser extension provided by Neryan (“we”, “us”, or “our”), handles information when you use it on supported AI conversation websites.

The short version

OpenLoops has no server or user account system. The extension processes page content on your device and saves only the plans and settings you choose to keep in your browser’s local extension storage.

What the extension can access.

To work, OpenLoops interacts with supported AI conversation pages in your browser. Depending on what you do, it may handle:

  • Selected conversation content. When you choose “Turn into plan”, OpenLoops reads the selected assistant response so it can structure it into points.
  • Your OpenLoops content. Plans, point titles, explanations, notes, statuses, and archive state that you create or edit.
  • Conversation context. The page URL associated with a plan, so you can return to the source conversation.
  • Extension settings and diagnostics. Preferences and basic on-device diagnostic information used to help features work and troubleshoot problems.

Version 1.0 does not track or save files attached to AI conversations. OpenLoops does not intentionally collect passwords, payment details, or authentication credentials.

Only to provide the features you choose.

OpenLoops processes information to create and manage plans, keep your place across conversation points, generate continuation prompts, insert text into a supported chat composer, export your content, and restore backups you select.

We do not use your OpenLoops content for advertising, user profiling, model training, or selling data. The extension does not include paid AI APIs; any AI analysis occurs in the AI service you are already using and remains subject to that service’s terms and privacy policy.

Stored locally. Controlled by you.

OpenLoops stores its data in chrome.storage.local, the browser-managed storage area assigned to the extension. Despite the name, this storage mechanism is used by both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Your content remains there until you delete a plan, clear the extension’s data, remove the extension, or your browser removes it. You can export plans as Markdown or download a JSON backup before deleting data.

Important

If browser sync, device backup, security software, or enterprise management is enabled on your device, those systems may independently handle browser data. Their practices are outside OpenLoops’ control.

Why OpenLoops asks for access.

storage

Saves your plans, notes, statuses, and preferences locally in the browser.

clipboardWrite

Copies a prompt only after you choose a copy or focus action, including as a fallback when direct composer insertion is unavailable.

Host access

Allows OpenLoops to add its interface and process selected responses on supported ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini pages.

OpenLoops does not use these permissions to monitor unrelated websites or browsing activity.

We do not sell or share your content.

Because OpenLoops has no data backend, we do not receive your plans or conversation content and do not sell, rent, or disclose them to advertisers or data brokers.

OpenLoops operates on third-party AI services, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Your use of those websites—including content entered into them—is governed by their respective privacy policies. Browser stores and your browser provider may also process technical information about extension installation, updates, and security independently of OpenLoops.

Your data, your controls.

You can review and edit saved content, export individual plans as Markdown, back up or restore extension data as JSON, archive plans, delete plans, and uninstall OpenLoops at any time. Deleting or uninstalling is the direct way to remove locally stored OpenLoops data.

If you contact us about privacy, please do not send sensitive conversation content unless it is necessary for us to understand your request.

Designed to minimise exposure.

OpenLoops reduces data exposure by keeping its working data on your device and avoiding an external account or storage service. No browser extension or local storage system can guarantee absolute security, so keep your browser and extension up to date and protect access to your device.

We may update this policy as OpenLoops changes or legal requirements evolve. We will revise the effective date above when we make changes. Material changes will be communicated through the extension, its store listing, or this page where appropriate.

Talk to a human.
